Network Service Disruptions - Western Australia 
Rail Services

  • There are 294 ULDs ex New South Wales and 260 ULDs ex Victoria delayed in transit due to a power outage at Cook railway station (SA). Freight due to arrive on Thursday for Friday delivery will be delayed. Delivery is expected on Friday afternoon.
  • The rail line between Sydney and Perth is impacted due to landslides in Lithgow (NSW). The length of delay unknown however there are no cancellation of services. We are seeking alternative routes.  The rail line is expected to be restored on Sunday 13 March.

Air and Road Services

  • All air services and road transport to New South Wales resumed scheduled operations on Friday 4 March.
  • Some air services and road transport to Broome and Kimberley were impacted from 1-3 March.

New South Wales and Queensland flood impacts

Flooding and extreme weather conditions across New South Wales and Queensland are impacting our ability to transport mail and parcels via our air and road networks, resulting in some delivery delays for both States.

  • Heavy rain and flooding are disrupting services in impacted areas of New South Wales and Queensland.
  • This may disrupt our ability to deliver to merchants and consumers, and to make collections.
  • We are making every effort to support customers where it is safe to do so.
  • Our transport and deliveries teams are continually assessing flood impacts and we will make every effort to deliver and collect where it is safe to do so.

Transport Update

  • Linehaul and local transport are operational.
  • There are some roads closures around Sydney which will impact deliveries today.
  • The M1 Highway is closed north bound with diversions in place.
  • We will commence transport to Casino today.

Air Network Update

  • We commenced operations with a fourth consecutive Sydney South Westerly Scenario. All aircraft were able to safely transit to Sydney, pre and post curfew, as planned. 
  • Thunderstorms closed Sydney airport at crucial times of the operation, resulting in a number of delays.

Delivery Centre/Facility Update

  • Ballina DC – Operational with some areas not accessible for delivery; A customer collections site in Ballina is being set up for areas not accessible or safe for delivery.
  • Bowral DC – Site is closed due to extensive water damage; Structural assessment underway; 18 delivery rounds are impacted; All processing including RSD is operational out of Mosvale.
  • Eastern Creek PUD – Some duties are unable to complete customer pickups due to flooding for some areas of Richmond, Kurmond, Kurrajong and Windsor.
  • Lismore DC – Generators have been sourced and will be onsite from Wednesday/Thursday; Cleaning scheduled for Wednesday 9 March.
  • Mullumbimby DC – Operational readiness progressing with cleaning scheduled for today; Some deliveries are running out of Byron Bay.



7/3/2022 CouriersPlease Service Update

Western Sydney, the Northern Rivers and Northern NSW areas are continuing to be impacted by heavy rain and localised flooding. Delivery times and service levels are expected to be impacted, with postcodes 2470 – 2490 likely to experience delays for the rest of this week. Our delivery agent’s depot in Lismore depot is currently out of service due to flooding, alternative arrangements are being organised.


In Western Sydney impacts are primarily in the Richmond and Windsor areas, and mean 1 day delays are likely.


South East Brisbane has isolated impacts with some delays due to road closures however all of our drivers are on the road today. The M1 Motorway between Sydney and Brisbane is open today easing delays on interstate linehaul.


With more rain forecast for the rest of the week in NSW and QLD further updates will be provided as the situation develops.
